Hugo Menzella, leads the scientific team of Keclon. He previously worked at Kosan Biosciences (USA), in the development of synthetic biology tools for the generation of new anticancer drugs. Previously, he worked for three years at Geneg (Argentina) on the development of a process for the production of an essential enzyme for the dairy industry. He graduated as a Biochemist at the UNR (National University of Rosario), and holds a PhD in Biological Sciences. His scientific expertise covers synthetic biology and fermentation technologies. Hugo is actually a researcher at CONICET and a professor at the UNR.
Leandro Vetcher, is in charge of the development of new business and investors relations at Keclon. He previously worked for three years as a researcher at Kosan Biosciences (USA) in the development of new drugs, and then at Johnson & Johnson at the early stage companies acquisitions area. He graduated as a Licentiate in Biotechnology at the UNR, and then did a Master in Biotechnology at Columbia University (USA). After leaving Kosan Biosciences, in 2006, he received an MBA from the MIT, focused on financials and strategies for the creation and development of biotechnology start-ups and green technologies. In 2012 he founded Green Pacific Biologicals (USA), a biofuels company based on algae, with seed capitals from Chilean Global Angels and the Austral chilean funds.
Salvador Peirú, leads the research projects at Keclon. Prior to Keclon, he worked as a researcher at Kosan Biosciences (USA) and Nedken (Argentina). He has been part of several research groups in forefront biotechnology projects at the UNR, IBR and CONICET. Salvador graduated as a Licentiate in Biotechnology at the UNR, where he then did a PhD in Biological Sciences and a postdoc in synthetic biology. Salvador is actually a researcher at CONICET and a teacher at the UNR.
Sebastian Bernales, is a scientific advisor of Keclon. Sebastián did his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the Universidad Católica de Chile. He then did a PhD and a postdoc in cell biology at the University of California in San Francisco (USA). Currently, Sebastian is Senior Director of Research for the California-based biotechnology company Medivation Inc. He is also a Director of Fundación Ciencia y Vida, and the Scientific Director of Fundación EcoScience.
Rodolfo Cabrera, is the currently the responsible of Quality, Products and Develompent at Unitec Bio (Argentina), one of the largest soybean oil biodiesel companies in the world. He has been working for more than 15 years at several oil companies, and has an expertise in analytical chemistry of oil and biodiesel. Rodolfo graduated as a Licentiate in Biotechnology at the UNR, where he also worked as a teacher until 2010.
