PLASEMIX™ ™ offers an alternative to the conventional aqueous degumming of crude vegetable oil, reaching yields greater than 2% w/w and with lower refining costs. Our phospholipases convert the phospholipids (PLs) into diacylglycerides. As the PLs are hydrolyzed, emulsions are no longer formed and therefore the retained oil is released. The gums obtained from the traditional aqueous degumming processes can also be treated, resulting in the recovery of extra oil.
OLEINZYME™ was developed to transform edible oil and food industry byproducts — such as gums, soapstocks, or combinations of both — by treating them with an exclusive enzymatic preparation which greatly reduces its environmental impact and has superior characteristics as opposed to those of the traditional methods which rely on strong acids. This enzymatically-obtained acid oil can be employed as an additive to animal feed, among other uses.
